The machine comes with a newly developed belt feed mechanism that offers excellent responsiveness to materials and ease of their handling. Color panel, IP-420C, with upgraded operabilitySince the machine comes with a touch-sensitive operation panel with acolor LCD, data required for sewing, such as the shirring amount, needlethread tension and stitch pitch can be entered with ease. In addition to the CompactFlash TM, the machine is provided asstandard with a USB connector. As a result, the use of a USB flash driveor card reader enables the storage and transmission of sewing data bymeans of various kinds of media (such as a floppy disk, SmartMedia,CompactFlash and SD card) to enable sewing using the same sewingdata among sewing machines in a plant or among subcontract plants. Highly-reliable direct-drive system The machine comes with the direct-drive system, in which a compact ACservomotor is directly joined to the main shaft. It offers a quick startup,increased stopping accuracy and excellent responsiveness. Increased lift of the presser foot An increase in the lift of the presser foot facilitates placement of thematerial under the presser foot as well as the removal of a finished portion. Stitch length is increased The maximum stitch length has been increased to 6 mm.With this large stitch length, an adequate shirring amount isensured even when a heavy-weight material is used. An excellent new type belt feed mechanismThanks to JUKI's unique right-and-left independent drive system ofthe top feed belt, right and left feed amounts can be adjustedseparately. This prevents the material from slipping out of position,thereby sewing sleeves with a consistent seam allowance. The machine comes provided with a mechanism for moving the beltfeed and intermediate presser up and down alternately, enabling itto eliminate tucks produced at the sleep cap as well as irregularpuckering produced in the neighborhood of the sleeve cap. By introducing the belt feed, the machine reduces scratches to thematerial made by the feed.The machine has solved the problems of conventional sleeve-attaching machines. The introduction of active-tension enables the separate setting ofsuitable thread tensions for sewing sleeves on a portion-by-portionbasis. This prevents an inadequate thread tension at a portionwhere the shirring amount is large or an excessive thread tensionat a portion where the shirring amount is small. In addition,specified tension settings can be stored in the memory on apattern-by-pattern basis and can be reproduced with ease.
